PIONEER the effective mosquito trap from Mosquito Magnet.
Mosquito Magnet is a selective and silent trap: it attracts and captures only mosquitoes, being harmless to bees, butterflies, and ladybugs.
Handy, this mosquito trap can be placed in mosquito breeding areas, it withstands bad weather and sunlight. It is sensitive to low water jets. It is easy to assemble and use.
It emits a precise amount of CO2 (the same amount we humans emit, produced from a propane tank) at a certain temperature and humidity, in order to attract mosquitoes. If the specific Pioneer pheromone is added, it will become irresistible to mosquitoes. The pheromone added to capture tiger mosquitoes is Lurex. The one for the common mosquito is Octenol.
When a mosquito approaches Pioneer, it is sucked into a net and will dry out shortly after. The airflow is ensured by a thin insulated cable, which consumes as much as an LED. The suction fan has been enhanced compared to previous models.
The mosquito population is eliminated after 6 weeks from the installation of Pioneer. That’s why it is advisable to install it at the beginning of spring. However, after 15 days, you can already feel the difference and see it from the net full of mosquitoes.
The secret to making Pioneer truly effective is its positioning: it should be placed near hedges or thickets and bushes, no less than 10 meters from the living area of the garden, not behind walls, where the air can circulate well to reach the maximum area of the garden possible.
Maintenance is also simple: after 21-30 days, the gas tank is changed and the pheromone tablet is replaced. With each gas tank change, it is advisable to clean the gas tubes with a gas canister to prevent the machine from stopping. A warning light alerts you to the malfunction of the machine.
