The PBD 40 is a bench column drill for hobbyists who desire high-precision drilling. Thanks to its technical features, the tool is particularly precise and very easy to use: for this purpose, a 710-watt universal motor has replaced the classic belt drive of traditional bench drills. This allows for continuous adjustment of the speed (200 – 850 / 600 – 2,500 rpm), via a special knob; furthermore, this eliminates the need for tensioning interventions. The PBD 40 is also equipped with two speeds and the "Constant Electronic" function, which prevents speed reduction during drilling in hard materials, ensuring a constant speed (drilling stroke: 90mm); this can be precisely adjusted thanks to the electronic indicator on the digital display. The PBD 40 bench column drill allows for very flexible use: from furniture construction to modeling, from DIY projects to restoration work. The digital display allows users to view the selected speed and the achieved drilling depth at any time: thus, hobbyists can better control the drilling process, further facilitated by the integrated laser aid. The LED ensures good illumination of the work area. The drill bit is lowered using a Softgrip-coated adjustment wheel and is held by a high-quality self-tightening chuck (1.5-13mm) with a safety ring, preventing jams. Unlike manual-guided drills, the PBD 40's bit always penetrates vertically into the workpiece (maximum hole diameter in steel 13mm, in wood 40mm). The 710-watt motor offers great power; moreover, thanks to its support system, the entire motor block follows the movement of the bit during its descent: this allows for a constant working height without needing to adjust it, as would otherwise be necessary for working on small pieces. The 2-speed gears provide high power in the 1st speed and high rpm in the 2nd speed. The high-quality precision chuck, adjustable without the use of keys, automatically tightens the bit in proportion to the cutting force, maintaining a constant clamping force even in the most demanding applications. The parallel guide and the large work table of the PBD 40 allow for precise and secure positioning of the workpiece. The equipment also includes a quick-fix clamp for securing circular-shaped pieces.
